Bio

Kristin Reeves (b. 1976, Muncie, USA) is a media artist who makes experimental films, stages live expanded cinema events, and exhibits lens-based images. She is interested in the historical use of media to stand in for our physical bodies in both clinical and art spaces. Her innovative material processes have been used to express visual narratives of injury and resilience. She earned her BFA at Ball State University and her MFA at the University of Florida. Her media artwork has been exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, European Media Arts Festival, The Centro Cultural de España CDMX, San Francisco Cinematheque’s CROSSROADS, The Block Museum, Ann Arbor Film Festival, The Chicago Underground Film Festival, Impakt Festival, and Steppenwolf Theater. She returned to Muncie, Indiana as an Assistant Professor of Intermedia Art at Ball State University and serve as Co-Artistic Director of That One Film Festival an international juried experimental media art event.
